Rice fries boyfriend on Facebook

Two members of the Australian Olympic swimming team have decided to call it a day. Not their careers, but their relationship. And they did it using Facebook. Stephanie Rice and her ex-boyfriend Eamon Sullivan made their separation public through their Facebook status now saying, "no longer listed in a relationship". Of course, friends were first to know and now the whole of Australia does as well.

Why do people have to be so attached to their social network profiles? If you have just broken up with your lover, is the next step to immediately change your online status? Whatever happened to the woman ringing friends and whinging about how all men are assholes? And as for the male in this relationship, where's Mr.T to tell him to "get some nuts!"

They have told the media that they are still friends. However, it is unclear if they physically spoke to journalists, or if these reports are simply based on them still having each other listed on their "Hot Friends" application.

Money Bill Williams

He seems to have shocked most of us by leaving his beloved NRL Bulldogs team for a better offer to play Rugby Union in Europe. But Sonny Bill Williams is still not talking about his quick departure. What has he got to hide? Why all of a sudden would a successful player pack his bags and run after the money? Does it make sense?

In recent times, more and more of Australia's greatest sports people are leaving for overseas teams all because the pay is better. So what? What happened to the days where players were loyal to their clubs? When if a Bulldog became a Rooster, there was always sure to be some controversy. Then again, what ever happened to a lot of things in sport?

I don't think we should blame it all on Sonny Bill. He's just doing what the rest of the NRL players do - only on a global scale. But hey... at least the others can talk about it.

Australian swimmer Nick D'Arcy set for a radio gig

You may remember him from that nightclub incident, but now Nick D'Arcy has his sights on radio. The former Olympic hopeful has just joined Sunshine Coast's Hot91 breakfast team. It's all good because at least he won't be completely bored during this years games in Beijing.

Then again, he could possibly do with a career change at the moment.

BB09... I don't think so!

The final series of Big Brother has just wrapped up and it looks like it won't be coming back next year following Network Ten's axing of the programme. This was due to its poor ratings. Week after week, the struggling show tried to introduce new and popular celebrities, however, it was not successful.

So here we are now - with no more Big Brother.

What does this mean? Well, this will be one of the last mentions of the show you'll hear for a while. It also means that the oldies won't have anything to whinge about on talkback radio. Finally, they will have to pick on another television show... and now that Daryl Somers has left Dancing With The Stars, who's left to rubbish?

Also, isn't it odd that nearly every show Jackie O appears on seems to end up going under? Australian Princess... Popstars... Thorpie's Angels... Big Brother...

It looks like former host Gretel Killeen didn't miss out on much. She's at least still got a job as the narrator in The Rocky Horror Show - The Musical.

So who's had the last laugh..?

G'day and welcome!
