Niche and Supersonic are excited to announce
that dream pop collective RHYE have added two exclusive headline shows
in Brisbane and Sydney to their Australian Tour in February and March
2019. A mosaic of emotive piano keys, physical percussion, buzzing
analog synths, and expansive vocals, RHYE find humanity in musicality.
Shrouded in mystery, the group first surfaced setting the Internet abuzz
with ambiguous imagery, sophisticatedly sensual music videos, and that
distinctive falsetto. Following the runaway online success of two
initial singles, the critically acclaimed debut album Woman (Loma Vista
Recordings) was released in 2013 and lauded by critics from Pitchfork
(“Best New Album”) to The Guardian to New York Times. Gifted songwriting,
breathtaking vocals and deft instrumental arrangements combine to create
an intoxicating blend of R&B influenced, deeply emotive music making the
album a staple for provoking intimate moments. Since the release of
Woman, RHYE has relentlessly toured to establish a devoted global
fanbase and enrapture crowds in theatres and at festivals worldwide
including riveting sets at Coachella and Pitchfork Paris amongst many
others. Originally a duo conceived in the studio, RHYE has transformed
into a collective led by vocalist and producer Milosh and elevated by a
cast of accomplished multi-instrumentalists. As the band began writing
new material, the expansive live show indelibly impacted the music for
their second full-length album Blood, released February 2nd, 2018,
resulting in a warmer, more organic sound. It’s a new beginning and a
new musical experience. It’s RHYE. Don’t miss your chance to see RHYE’S
dreamlike live show. “RHYE boasts a sound that lingers long in the
memory” - Mojo.

Parliament
Funkadelic feat.
George Clinton |
^^ |

Where:
Enmore Theatre
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will
be ensuring that all Aussie fans have one last chance to see George
perform live in Australia this April as he plays both a Melbourne and
Sydney date before his Funk-a-thon farewell to the land down under. He
is sure to ‘Tear The Roof Off’’ with his Funk-melodies which still have
a major influence and inspiration for today’s Hip-Hop and RnB artists.
Recording both as Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton
revolutionised R&B during the ‘70s, twisting soul music into Funk by
adding influences from several late 1960s acid heroes such as Jimi
Hendrix, Frank Zappa and Sly Stone. The Parliament/Funkadelic machine
ruled music during the ‘70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles and
recording three platinum albums. The early 1990s saw the rise of
funk-inspired Rap and Funk Rock that re-established the status of
Clinton as one of the most important forces in the recent history of
black music. Clinton’s music then became the soundtrack for the rap
movement, as artists from MC Hammer to Snoop Dogg depended heavily on
the infectious groove of Clinton productions as the foundation of their
recordings. Clinton’s inspiration, dedication and determination resulted
in the elevation of Funk music to complete recognition and acceptance as
a true genre in and of itself.

Razor-sharp yet soft and cuddly like a
baby's blanket, Ron Funches is a hugely in demand US comedian who
frequently headlines shows across the US, UK and Canada. Described as
"comedy's relaxing equivalent of a glass of wine in a fragrant bubble
bath" by UK comedy Bible Chortle, and citing Steven Wright, Tig Notaro
and Todd Barry amongst his influences, Ron's laidback stage persona is a
perfect vessel for his incisive observations on everything from casual
racism to raising a son with autism. Funches regularly performs stand-up
on The Conan O'Brien Show and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and his
first TV special, The Half Hour on Comedy Central, was ranked as the
11th-best of 2014 by Vulture. Now with his full hour, Giggle Fit
immediately hitting number one on the iTunes comedy charts, garnering
praise from the likes of Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson, Busy Philipps,
Patton Oswalt and Seth Myers, and becoming the highest rated Comedy
Central special in two years one its release, it's clear the world can't
get enough of the "big cuddly teddy bear" with the soft voice and biting
wit. Giggle Fit gets its' Australian release on the 13th of February
through Comedy Central. From co-starring with Chris D'Elia in Undateable
to writing for The Eric Andre Show and appearing on Drunk History,
Portlandia, and Another Period, Ron's credits read like a ‘best of' the
most popular comedy TV & movies of the decade. With unique low-key
delivery, incisive punchlines and shrewd set-ups that led the New York
Times to declare that he "Purrs like a kitty cat, stings like a bee",
don't miss Ron Funches on his Australian debut! "Funches takes to the
stage like a boxer... telling tales that are charmingly frivolous. A
delight" - Chortle (UK). "A subtle, savvy performer" - New York Times
(US). ★★★★1/2 "Funches is one of the most original voices in the
stand-up comedy world right now, and his hysterical material is crafted
with incredible finesse" - Exclaim.ca (US) . "Funches's wry worldview
and fun-loving spirit are infectious, and there are intriguing flashes
of steel beneath the surface jollity" - The Guardian (UK).

Rejjie is a scene unto himself. It's not
just that he grew up the only black kid on Dublin's Northside, where
there's no music scene to speak of. He lives wherever his suitcase
settles, wherever the songs send him - Los Angeles, New York, London -
tangling words into beautifully complex knots that blur biography with
fantasy over a shifting mass of rainy loops, technicolor keys, and
trippy percussion. And then there's his voice, deep and otherworldly,
capable of riding a beat with metronomic precision, cooing to raw piano,
or yawping Prince-like over a soul-rock-jazz groove. His influences are
as disparate as George Michael and Charles Bukowski. He designs clothes
and paints. He sees the moon as his first love. With creativity and
marvel of astral proportions, it's no wonder that Rejjie was initially
signed by Elton John's management company (now with Machine Management),
has toured with Madonna, harbours a treasure trove of unreleased collabs
with King Krule, and is part of the illusive 300 Entertainment roster,
alongside fellow outsiders Young Thug and Fetty Wap. Making albums in
the middle of making other albums, Rejjie's relentless ability to create
saw him drop a full-length mixtape just 8 months before his LP: 2017's
The Moon & You, an experimental beast of a different stripe that,
despite a Joey Bada$$ cameo, puts him more squarely in the camp of
genre-less auteurs like Shabazz Palaces, Anderson Paak, and Thundercat .
It is safe to say, though, that his highly anticipated debut album Dear
Annie, released in February this year, is the crown jewel amongst a
kingdom of gold. Written and recorded across Los Angeles, London and
Paris, it's a genre-spanning magnum opus of 20 tracks from the
wise-beyond-his-years 24-year old. In his own bold and idiosyncratic
manner, Rejjie croons and rhymes equally while inviting you to embark on
a journey to the surreal depths of his soul. Don't miss your chance to
see Rejjie live in Australia for the very first time.
