Every Man & His Dog Australia Day 2019 Stand Up Paddle


When: Saturday 26th January
Beachfront of Robertson Park (in front of Watsons Bay Hotel, Watsons Bay
Time: 7:30am-12pm
Cost: $0-$50

Every Man and His Dog is a Stand Up Paddle event on Australia Day that is made up of several SUP races in which participants will compete based on their level and skill in Stand Up Paddling. There will be different courses located within Watsons Bay as well as a more challenging long distance race for the more elite paddlers. This event does not only attracts athletes, but local families and visitors who have a chance to compete in the more basic SUP courses and individuals with their dogs who participate in the iconic novelty, man and dog races. This is an event for all Australians (including their pooches)!

KIDS SUP (8-13 yrs)

All of the races have great prizes to be won! We also have random prizes on the day, so you don’t have to win to get some goodies! For those who haven’t paddled before and would like some practice and tips before Australia Day (don’t worry you have time!)

GIO Oz Day 10K Wheelchair Race: 30th Anniversary


When: Saturday 26th January
140 George Street, The Rocks
Time: 9am-10:30am
Cost: FREE

Some of the world’s best wheelchair athletes including World and Commonwealth champion Kurt Fearnley will converge in Sydney for the 30th anniversary of the hottest race on two wheels the GIO Oz Day 10k race. Athletes from Australia (NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, ACT), Canada, France, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, South Korea, Mauritius and Ghana. The Governor of NSW, General David Hurley, will start the race. The start/finish line is outside the Museum of Contemporary Art and the best vantage points are George Street in The Rocks and Hickson Road. To welcome the spectators, with the support of GIO, free breakfast is provided, kicking off at 8 am beneath the Cahill Expressway on George St, The Rocks.

Spartan Australia Sydney Urban Sprint


When: Friday 8th February & Saturday 9th February

Come and conquer the Sydney Urban Sprint. This is the 5k like you’ve never seen it before. 20+ obstacles over a 5k course with a banging festival area. The world’s best obstacle course race comes to town. Get your mates together, form your team, don your Spartan helmets, and have a go at Spartan! If you’re thinking this is a whole new level from your usual fun run, then don’t stress! At 5km, the Sydney Urban Sprint has been designed as an entry into the world of Spartan and is therefore perfect for athletes of all levels, from Spartan first-timers to seasoned racers! You can race solo or get your mates together and form a team! So, jump on the train and come and join us after work on the Friday or swap the Saturday morning hangover for a new kind of challenge! See you on the start line!
